College wrestling rankings: InterMat updates all 10 weight classes after Week 7
With the 2024-25 NCAA Wrestling ongoing, InterMat released their updated individual rankings following Week 7 of the season.
There were some returns and departures from and to the injury front. So with that, there were some shifts in the rankings, but otherwise, not too much movement before Christmas.
We’ll dive into the top 10 at each weight, while listing the full rankings below.
125 lbs.
1. Matt Ramos, Purdue
2. Richie Figueroa, Arizona State
3. Troy Spratley, Oklahoma State
4. Eddie Ventresca, Virginia Tech
5. Caleb Smith, Nebraska
6. Brendan McCrone, Ohio State
7. Jore Volk, Wyoming
8. Vincent Robinson, NC State

133 lbs.
1. Ryan Crookham, Lehigh

3. Zeth Romney, Cal Poly (+1)

6. Evan Frost, Iowa State
7. Nic Bouzakis, Ohio State
8. Tyler Knox, Stanford
9. Tyler Wells, Minnesota (+1)
10. Braeden Davis, Penn State (+1)
Bailey was upset and suffered his first loss to Blake Boarman of Chattanooga, so he drops a bit. Dylan Shawver of Rutgers is out of the top 10 after a 1-1 weekend in the state of Ohio, so in comes Davis, who’s just 2-1 on the season at his new weight.

10. Kai Orine, NC State (+1)
The top nine all stayed the same this week but Orine is back in the top 10. He’s 8-2 on the season. Alirez, Mendez, Bartlett and Vombaur are all undefeated as we get closer to Christmas as well.

10. Ty Whalen, Princeton
No changes this week at 149 pounds as Henson still sports the best record at 11-0. Van Ness, Watters, Parco, Lamer and Whalen are all undefeated. Princeton is waiting for Whalen’s return from an injury but he’s one of the more dangerous guys in the country when he’s out there.

1. Jacori Teemer, Iowa
2. Meyer Shapiro, Cornell
3. Antrell Taylor, Nebraska
4. Tyler Kasak, Penn State

The top seven stayed intact this week as Miller and Sparks moved up a spot. Ohio State’s Sammy Sasso dropped to No. 11 with a loss, pushing Scoles up into the top 10. The Illinois freshman is 9-0 this year.
174 lbs.
1. Keegan O’Toole, Missouri
2. Levi Haines, Penn State
3. Dean Hamiti, Oklahoma State
4. Lennox Wolak, Virginia Tech
5. Nick Incontrera, UPenn
6. Gaven Sax, Oklahoma
7. Lorenzo Norman, Stanford
8. Nelson Brands, Iowa
9. Garrett Thompson, Ohio
10. Cade DeVos, South Dakota State
The top 10 remained intact with one week to go before Christmas. O’Toole and Haines are a combined 14-0 and the class of 174. But Hamiti looks rejuvenated at Oklahoma State is on a tear at 10-0. Incontrera might no longer be a secret for Penn.

4. Max McEnelly, Minnesota

8. Bennett Berge, South Dakota State
9. Chris Foca, Cornell
10. Colton Hawks, Missouri
Another weight class with no changes in the top 10 here. Starocci, Keckeisen, McEnelly, Allred, Smith and Arnold are all unbeaten. Plott’s been great this eason too, sporting an 8-1 record in the first semester.
197 lbs.
1. AJ Ferrari, CSU Bakersfield
2. Stephen Buchanan, Iowa
3. Jacob Cardenas, Michigan
4. Rocky Elam, Missouri
5. Stephen Little, Little Rock-Arkansas
6. Isaiah Salazar, Minnesota
7. Josh Barr, Penn State
8. Michael Beard, Lehigh
9. Andy Smith, Virginia Tech
10. Luke Surber, Oklahoma State
Guess what? Another weight class goes unchanged in the top 10 this week. Ferrari returned to the mat with a bonus point victory and is now 3-0. Elam has still yet to wrestle this season and there are rumblings he might not return. It would be a tough loss for Missouri.
285 lbs.
1. Gable Steveson, Minnesota
2. Greg Kerkvliet, Penn State
3. Wyatt Hendrickson, Oklahoma State
4. Isaac Trumble, NC State (+1)
5. Yaraslau Slavikouski, Rutgers (+1)
6. Cohlton Schultz, Arizona State (+1)
7. Taye Ghadiali, Campbell (+1)
