College wrestling rankings: InterMat updates all 10 weight classes ahead of conference tournaments

The latest InterMat rankings are in following Week 18 of the season as the individual postseason is finally upon us this weekend with conference tournaments!
Now that we’re at this point of the season, the action is going to seriously heat up. But guess what? We have a new No. 1 at a weight going into the weekend.
Let’s dive into the latest InterMat rankings, looking at No. 1 through 10 in each weight class.
125 lbs.
1. Matt Ramos, Purdue
2. Richie Figueroa, Arizona State
3. Troy Spratley, Oklahoma State
4. Eddie Ventresca, Virginia Tech
5. Vince Robinson, NC State
6. Stevo Poulin, Northern Colorado
7. Caleb Smith, Nebraska
8. Luke Lilledahl, Penn State
9. Sheldon Seymour, Lehigh
10. Spencer Moore, North Carolina
Going into the conference tournaments, the top 10 stayed the same at 125 pounds. Ramos is the lone unbeaten wrestler and the favorite to win it all in a very random weight class going into those “three days in March.”

133 lbs.

1. Drake Ayala, Iowa (+1)
2. Lucas Byrd, Illinois (+1)
3. Evan Frost, Iowa State (+1)
4. Braxton Brown, Maryland (+1)
5. Braeden Davis, Penn State (+1)
6. Nasir Bailey, Arkansas-Little Rock (+1)
7. Ethan Oakley, North Carolina (+1)
8. Tyler Knox, Stanford (+1)
9. Zeth Romney, Cal Poly (+1)
10. Dylan Shawver, Rutgers (+1)
We have a new No. 1 wrestler at 133 pounds! With the news of Ryan Crookham out for the postseason now official, Ayala gets bumped up, along with everyone else. Shawver, last year’s Big Ten champion, is back in the top 10.
141 lbs.
1. Beau Bartlett, Penn State
2. Jesse Mendez, Ohio State
3. Andrew Alirez, Northern Colorado
4. Cael Happel, Northern Iowa
5. Tagen Jamison, Oklahoma State
6. Brock Hardy, Nebraska
7. Josh Koderhandt, Navy
8. Vance Vombaur, Minnesota
9. CJ Composto, UPenn
10. Sam Latona, Virginia Tech
No changes across the 141 pound weight class as we head into the postseason. Bartlett and Mendez are likely to meet in the Big Ten finals which could be monumental for NCAAs. Watch out for guys like Happel and Jamison too.
149 lbs.
1. Caleb Henson, Virginia Tech
2. Shayne Van Ness, Penn State
3. Kyle Parco, Iowa
4. Ridge Lovett, Nebraska
5. Ethan Stiles, Oregon State
6. Lachlan McNeil, North Carolina
7. Dylan D’Emilio, Ohio State
8. Paniro Johnson, Iowa State
9. Chance Lamer, Cal Poly
10. Colin Realbuto, Northern Iowa
The 149 pound weight class remained the same here and those top four seem to be the top contenders for the NCAA title. Stiles could be a true dark horse to win it all by the time we get to Philadelphia. At the very least, challenge for the finals.
157 lbs.

1. Tyler Kasak, Penn State
2. Meyer Shapiro, Cornell
3. Jacori Teemer, Iowa
4. Antrell Taylor, Nebraska
5. Ethen Miller, Maryland
6. Ryder Downey, Northern Iowa
7. Joey Blaze, Purdue
8. Tommy Askey, Minnesota
9. Trevor Chumbley, Northwestern
10. Rafael Hipolito, Virginia Tech
No changes across the top 10 at this weight for 157. Kasak is still the top dog with Shapiro and Teemer following him. Big Tens at this weight could be wild, especially if Miller actually ends up getting the No. 1 seed.
165 lbs.
1. Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State
2. Mikey Caliendo, Iowa
3. Terrell Barraclough, Utah Valley
4. Peyton Hall, West Virginia
5. Julian Ramirez, Cornell
6. Cameron Amine, Oklahoma State
7. Will Miller, Appalachian State
8. Christopher Minto, Nebraska
9. Paddy Gallagher, Ohio State
10. Beau Mantanona, Michigan

No changes at 165 as well, at least in the top 10 of the rankings. Mesenbrink is undefeated and the heavy favorite to win Big Tens and NCAAs. But Caliendo and Barraclough have been awesome this season.
174 lbs.
1. Keegan O’Toole, Missouri
2. Levi Haines, Penn State
3. Dean Hamiti, Oklahoma State
4. Carson Kharchla, Ohio State
5. Lorenzo Norman, Stanford
6. Garrett Thompson, Ohio
7. Cade DeVos, South Dakota State
8. Lenny Pinto, Nebraska
9. Alex Cramer, Central Michigan
10. Patrick Kennedy, Iowa
O’Toole returned to the mat and is ready to roll in the postseason, but no changes in the top 10 at 174. Haines’ only loss is to the Mizzou Tiger. Hamiti is still undefeated and a Big 12 finals clash with O’Toole could be must-see TV.
184 lbs.

1. Carter Starocci, Penn State
2. Parker Keckeisen, Northern Iowa
3. Dustin Plott, Oklahoma State
4. Max McEnelly, Minnesota
5. Bennett Berge, South Dakota State
6. Chris Foca, Cornell
7. Silas Allred, Nebraska
8. Gabe Arnold, Iowa
9. Evan Bockman, Iowa State
10. Colton Hawks, Missouri
Three unbeatens highlight an unchanged top 10 at 184: Starocci, Keckeisen and McEnelly. Keckeisen and Plott likely face off, again, for the Big 12 crown while Starocci awaits McEnelly, or perhaps Allred or Arnold, depending upon seeding.
197 lbs.
1. Stephen Buchanan, Iowa
2. Josh Barr, Penn State
3. Jacob Cardenas, Michigan
4. AJ Ferrari, CSU Bakersfield
5. Michael Beard, Lehigh
6. Luke Surber, Oklahoma State
7. Stephen Little, Arkansas-Little Rock
8. Isaiah Salazar, Minnesota
9. Trey Munoz, Oregon State
10. Mac Sout, Pittsburgh
Once again, the top 10 remain unchanged but this is a steep weight with hammers like Buchanan, Barr, Cardenas and Ferrari all considered the top NCAA title challengers. Good luck figuring it out.
285 lbs.
1. Gable Steveson, Minnesota
2. Greg Kerkvliet, Penn State
3. Wyatt Hendrickson, Oklahoma State
4. Isaac Trumble, NC State
5. Owen Trephan, Lehigh
6. Cohlton Schultz, Arizona State
7. Yaraslau Slavikouski, Rutgers
8. Josh Heindselman, Michigan
9. Nick Feldman, Ohio State
10. Luke Luffman, Illinois
Steveson is still the man to beat and we could get that long awaited rematch with Kerkvliet in the Big Ten finals this weekend. No changes here at heavyweight as we await the conference tournaments.
