Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic four-star EDGE Collins Acheampong has flipped his commitment from Michigan to Miami.

The 6-foot-7, 250-pounder was the Wolverines’ second-highest ranked commit in the 2023 cycle, trailing only behind four-star defensive lineman Enow Etta.

He chose the Wolverines over offers from USC, LSU, Miami, UCLA, Texas and a number of other major programs in July.

Acheampong is the No. 187 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 24 EDGE and the No. 12 senior recruit in California.

Collins Acheampong Scouting Summary

“Versatile edge defender whose athletic upside is through the roof. Has the unique ability to bend the corner and anchor at the point of attack as a defensive end. Still has some rawness when it comes to hand usage, but will develop as he gains more comfortability in his pass rush. Immense potential and long-term upside and could develop into a top-100 NFL draft pick.”
