Colorado defensive lineman Bishop Thomas has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. Thomas only spent one season with the Buffaloes.

In his lone season at Colorado, Thomas appeared in eight games and tallied six tackles, two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. Thomas’ best game of the season came in Colorado’s win over Arizona State when he recorded three tackles.

Thomas was reportedly dismissed from the program after being suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Before transferring to Colorado, Thomas spent one season at Florida State. He played in two games for the Seminoles, securing one tackle. He ultimately opted to use his redshirt that season.

Bishop Thomas played high school football at Bishop Moore Catholic (FL), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 560 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Thomas is the 42nd Colorado player to enter the transfer portal during or since the 2023 campaign. However, the program has also added 34 players via the portal, earning the No. 1 spot in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

Deion Sanders not worried about transfer portal losses

While many fans have panicked about Colorado’s substantial losses in the portal, head coach Deion Sanders never worried. Earlier this month, the NFL Hall-of-Famer addressed the program’s substantial transfer departures.

“I wish you guys do a little more homework when you start talking about the portal and understand what we losing, What are we losing? I got time today,” Sanders said. “What are we losing? Potential? Where? You haven’t been watching practice have you? We good. We’re good.

“I trust the recruiting team,” Sanders said. “I trust that coaches and please have some faith in me. We aight. We alright. What happens with the portal man, and you guys need to know, a lot of people are fighting for backups. When a guy is a starter and he transfers you got to really think about that. I mean, is he really that? I don’t know how many starters have really transferred around the country.”
