Travis Etienne says brother Trevor 'might need to go play for Prime'
Colorado stunned the college football world on Saturday, upsetting TCU 45-42 as a 21-point underdog in its season opener. The Buffaloes caught everyone’s attention with the impressive performance, including Jaguars star running back Travis Etienne.
The former Clemson star Tweeted that his little brother — Florida running back Trevor Etienne — might should consider transferring to Colorado after seeing the performance from Deion Sanders’ club.
“Lil bro might need to go play for Prime,” Travis Etienne tweeted.
Travis Etienne did follow up later and share that he was joking. “Issa joke,” he said. Still, it’s clear that he was impressed.
Trevor Etienne and the Gators suffered a disappointing loss to Utah on Thursday in their season opener.
Utah controlled the game, leading 24-3 entering the fourth quarter, on its way to a 24-11 victory.
Trevor Etienne had seven carries for 25 yards and four catches for 12 yards in the loss.
While the Gators offense struggled mightily against Utah, Colorado had its way with the TCU defense on Saturday.
Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders — the son of Deion Sanders — passed for 510 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Colorado had four players with more than 100 receiving yards, including Dylan Edwards, who finished with five catches for 135 yards and three scores.
Former five-star recruit Travis Hunter had 11 catches for 119 yards for the Buffaloes.
It was quite the performance by coach Prime and his program and it has everyone, including Travis Etienne, talking about it.

Deion Sanders after upset of TCU: ‘We keep receipts’
In his Colorado coaching debut, Deion Sanders saw his son Shedeur Sanders break the school record for single game passing yards, true freshman Dylan Edwards break out and two-way star Travis Hunter dominate on both sides of the football. Colorado won one game last season and already matched the total Saturday.
Following the game, Sanders spoke to FOX sideline reporter Jenny Taft.
“Thank you Jesus,” Sanders said on the broadcast. “I’m so thankful right now. Man, I’m loving these kids. Rick George for given me this opportunity man, this is a blessing. Buffs nation who supported us … God this is good.”
When asked about expectations, Sanders responded firmly.
“We told you we coming,” Sanders said. “We told you we coming. You thought we was joking. Guess what? We keep receipts. God bless you America. God is good.”
In a back and forth affair, it looked like TCU would get the last laugh with their response to Colorado’s punches. However, Sanders’ crew proved to be too strong.
“There were some big plays throughout the game and all we kept teaching was just getting one stop,” Sanders said. “But what about the offense? How did they respond? How do these guys respond? I don’t know how many snaps (Travis Hunter) played, but we’ll put a hot tub on the plane for him to make sure he’s straight.”
