Colorado not only took a lopsided loss to an old-school rival on Saturday night, but took some physical lumps doing so. And head coach Deion Sanders had a brief update on the various injuries, bumps and bruises for his players — including his two sons — after the game.

Sanders noted four players as having some injuries of note after the game: Cornerback Isaiah Hardge, defensive lineman Chidozie Nwankwo and his two sons, safety Shilo Sanders and quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The latter was seen leaving the field early at the end of regulation, a move his father said was about giving him maximum time to get a few things checked on.

“Yeah, I just talked to him he sound — looks pretty darn good to me. Just want to make sure we get him checked out and we have precaution because now you’re looking forward to next week,” Sanders said. “This week, that was over. By the time he got out of the game, it was a wrap. So we wanted to make sure he’s going to be OK so we wanted to get him checked out.”

While Hardge seemingly hurt his foot/ankle area on a punt, Sanders didn’t seem overly concerned about the second-year cornerback. It was a similar deal for Nwankwo, who is dealing with some AC joint issue.

As for Shilo Sanders, the safety apparently has a forearm or similar injury, and one that will potentially keep him sidelined for an extended period. Sanders said during the game that it could perhaps be a fracture, but said after that he’s unsure the exact nature.

“I think Hardge did something with his foot on one of the punts. Shilo, I think suffered a — I don’t know the extent of the injury but I know he did something to his forearm that put him out for the rest of the game. Chidoze, I think it’s an AC joint or something like that. I think he’s going to be alright, I think he’s going to consequently play this upcoming week. I don’t know about Shilo,” Sanders said. “And Shedeur got dinged a bit on that, what’d they call it, intentional, helmet-to-helmet, targeting. He got dinged a little bit. So we just wanted to take care of him and get him out of there.”
