Colorado is back in the Big 12 and hosted Baylor for its first game back. As the clock ticked down to zero — and even read zero — the Buffaloes appeared to be heading to 0-1 in conference play. One last heave from Shedeur Sanders was all they had after Will Sheppard dropped what could have been the game-tying touchdown.

Sanders went back to the left side of the field and launched one into the endzone. Somehow, he connected with wide receiver LaJohntay Wester to put Colorado within an extra point of tying the guy. An incredible play from Sanders and Wester, sending Folsom Field into a frenzy.

Despite Baylor’s best attempt to freeze Colorado on the PAT, the kick went through the uprights. Overtime football is going to be played in Boulder as the Buffaloes look to pull off a miracle on Saturday night.

While the celebrations in Boulder and wild, there is still a full overtime period to play. Both teams will possess the ball at least once, with some more craziness having the potential to unfold. Sanders could easily produce more magic or come up just short and lose in heartbreaking fashion.

If Colorado does wind up finding a winner, the Hail Mary will live in infamy for quite some time. Not a bad way to introduce yourself back to the Big 12 after over a decade away. Now, to get the game over the line and add to the special night that’s unfolded.

Travis Hunter visibly upset during Colorado game vs. Baylor

Tempers may have cooled as Colorado has drawn even with Baylor in the third quarter. But two-way star Travis Hunter wasn’t playing his cards close to the chest for a bit on Saturday night.

With the Buffaloes trailing, 24-17, at the time and having not scored in the half to that point, Hunter was seen on the sideline taking off his helmet and appearing to want to slam it down. While he restrained himself from that as the Buffaloes sent the punt team out, he appeared to be pleading for answers as to why Colorado was calling the plays it had — with varying degrees of potential profanity.

Hunter had six receptions for 126 yards as of the end of the third quarter. He also had a TFL while on defense.
