Former USF safety Tawfiq Byard will transfer to Colorado
Former South Florida safety Tawfiq Byard tells On3 he’s transferring to Colorado.
“Time to win the Natty,” Byard stated.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Byard chose to play for head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes over his other opportunities from LSU, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
“The defensive coordinator Rob Livingston we speak the same language,” Byard added. “He’s an NFL guy who coached a lot of good safeties.
“Also the staff Coach Prime hired. They make you feel welcomed and loved. To the academic people to Coach Prime himself everyone was welcoming!”
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Byard posted 54 tackles this fall with two sacks and an interception.
Byard will have three years of eligibility at Colorado.
