Colorado trending with 4-star CB Byron Baldwin
Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star safety Byron Baldwin backed off his commitment to Indiana earlier this month after being committed to the Hoosiers since April.
At the time, he chose them over Minnesota and Kentucky, as well as a handful of others. But a number of teams have taken interest in Baldwin this fall, including Colorado, Missouri, UCLA, Florida and Penn State.
But it’s the Buffaloes and Deion Sanders who appear to be trending as the favorites to land him. Even prior to Baldwin’s decommitment, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong had logged an expert pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for the Buffs to flip him.
“I’m just taking my time and making sure I’m making the best decision for me in the long run,” Baldwin told Wiltfong after decommitting.
He visited the Buffaloes officially in September and came away very impressed by what he saw on and off the field.

“The atmosphere was crazy in Boulder during the game,” Baldwin told Wiltfong after this trip. “What’s continuing to excite me about the Buffaloes is the experience, simplicity, and connections that the staff has.”
Buffs to looking to add Baldwin to growing 2025 class
The Tigers are also a school he has his eye on, though no visits have been scheduled yet. Colorado already flipped one of its top defensive back targets, four-star Antonio Branch, from Penn State. And now they’re looking for another as they try to capitalize on a strong start to the season.
Baldwin would be another big coup, as the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is one of the country’s fastest-rising prospects. In the latest On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the nation’s 135 overall recruit and No. 14 safety.
As a junior, he totaled 89 tackles, four pass breakups, two interceptions and two forced fumbles while playing for Calvert Hall Academy in the Baltimore area.
