Colston Loveland injury: Michigan tight end taken to locker room in second half, ruled out
Michigan tight end Colston Loveland was escorted into the Wolverines’ locker room by athletic training staff in the second half against Arkansas State on Saturday.
By the end of the third quarter, he had been ruled out of the game, per the Big Ten Network broadcast. He came out of the locker room in a t-shirt, but the on-air report was unable to specify any specific injury.
Loveland appeared to favor his left arm during the first half and was looked during the second half locker room. An update was provided on the Big Ten Network broadcast at the time, saying that he was “good to go,” but less than five minutes into the game was taken to the back after being tackled on a reception.
He caught a pass over the middle during the second quarter. After the tackle was when appeared to begin holding his arm.

Loveland finished the game with three recenptions for 30 yards. He has 19 receptions for 187 yards and a touchdown so far on the young season.
The exact injury or timetable for his recovery is unknown as of this report, and it’s likely more tests will be done on Monday to discover the extent of his ailment.
Once Loveland was taken out, Michigan quarterback Davis Warren would go on to throw his third interception of the game. He was subesquently benched for Alex Orji. Orji marched the Wolverines down the field on the first possession he was in and finished it with a nine-yard strike to tight end Hogan Hansen, who was filling in for Loveland in what was the first reception of Hansen’s career.

Sherrone Moore ‘really happy’ with rushing attack in first half
Michigan has dominated the line of scrimmage offensively to begin Week 3, leading Arkansas State 21-3 at halftime behind a 176-yard performance from his rushing attack.
The Wolverines punched three touchdowns into the end zone via the rushing game. Kalel Mullings led the way with 86 rushing yards and a pair of scores on seven attempts while Donovan Edwards has carried the load with 13 touches for 70 yards and a touchdown of his own.
Leading 7-0 after the first quarter, however, head coach Sherrone Moore feels confident in his team after scoring two touchdowns during before heading into the locker room.
“It was a little rocky first couple plays, but i felt like the line was coming off the ball being physical,” Moore said at halftime. “Running backs are really hitting hard. Perimeter blocking is doing a really outstanding job. Really happy about the running game right now.”
