ESPN insider Pete Thamel provided an injury update on Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman ahead of Saturday’s game at Florida.

Weigman was listed as questionable on Texas A&M’s injury report on Friday and apparently there is some real concern about whether or not he will be able to suit up against the Gators.

Sources: Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman is a ‘legitimate game-time decision’ at Florida today,” Thamel posted on Twitter. “He’s dealing with an upper body injury and will be evaluated pre-game before a decision is made. He’s been limited in practice.

The sophomore has thrown for 225 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions, through a pair of games this season.

Expectations were high for Conner Weigman going into the 2024 season, but he struggled in the opener against Notre Dame. The Texas native was 12-30 for 100 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions against the Irish.

He did bounce back to compete 11 of 14 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns in a blowout win over McNeese last week. However, he apparently got banged up during that game and could now miss Saturday’s SEC opener against Florida.

If Conner Weigman is unable to go, redshirt freshman Marcel Reed would likely get the start. Reed was 5-for-11 passing for 71 yards against McNeese.

He also appeared in three games last season, including the TaxAct Texas Bowl against Oklahoma State. Reed was 20 of 33 for 361 yards against the Cowboys. He also rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown.
