Conner Weigman injury update: Texas A&M QB's status revealed on Wednesday report

Arkansas and Texas A&M both won their SEC openers, but something will have to give when they face each other Saturday in the Southwest Classic. A first look at which players could be in danger of missing the contest was revealed Wednesday as the initial injury report was released.
Several Aggies players are dealing with injuries heading into the matchup, including quarterback Conner Weigman. He has missed the past two weeks due to a sprained AC joint and is once again questionable for Saturday against the Razorbacks.

A&M has started redshirt freshman Marcel Reed at quarterback in each of the past two weeks. He has looked impressive both through the air and on the ground, rushing for more than 80 yards both in Week 3 against Florida and this past week against Bowling Green.
Reed completed 16-of-29 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns in the win against the Falcons. He has scored five times in the past two weeks and should continue to fill in capably if Weigman is unable to go.

Aggies coach Mike Elko explained Wednesday that Weigman is still a game-time decision for Saturday.
As for Arkansas, the Razorbacks opened up SEC play this past week with a 24-14 win against Auburn. They had a total of six players miss that game due to injury, including defensive backs Jaylon Braxton and Hudson Clark.
The Hogs are led by a rushing attack that is averaging 240.0 ground yards per game through the first month of the season. It’s not just running back Ja’Quinden Jackson either, though he has paced the way with 472 yards and eight touchdowns. Quarterback Taylen Green also has dual-threat capability and is liable to take off at any moment.
That should keep the defense honest as Arkansas squares off against Texas A&M at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
