After College GameDay went to the rap game with Jack Harlow for Week 1 and to the movie theater with Glen Powell for Week 2, Luke Combs is bringing country music to the set for Week 3.

On Thursday, it was announced Combs will join the crew as Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and company take the show to the campus of Appalachian State.

“Pumped to let y’all know I will be the guest picker for @espn’s @CollegeGameDay THIS Saturday, Sep. 17!” tweeted Combs. “Tune-in around 11:30 AM ET to see me make my picks, but y’all already know I’m taking @AppState_FB!”

Moreover, Mountaineers are set to house the ESPN pregame show this Saturday in what should be a raucous event, having Troy on the schedule. Host Rece Davis originally teased the possibility on the air but did not reveal the location. Now, the word is out.

The timing is perfect for the Mountaineers, who are fresh off an upset of Texas A&M. They played well in Week 1 as well, taking North Carolina to the wire in a thrilling matchup. Appalachian State might have a 1-1 record but it’s been an exciting two games.

As for Troy, they are 1-1 on the season as well. The Trojans opened the year with a loss to Ole Miss, while they took care of business vs. Alabama A&M on Saturday. Appalachian State has more than a credible opponent in town for Gameday.

Two weeks into the season and College Gameday has already picked two great locations. Picking to broadcast live from Colombus for Notre DameOhio State was an easy choice and the gave lived up to the height as well. Saturday was a return trip to Austin, where Texas surprisingly played well against Alabama.

Now, Appalachian State will be hoping to put on as good of a show for ESPN. It’s rare a Group of Five conference program gets to host College Gameday. And there might not be a better location than Boone for that kind of show.
