4-star ATH Courtney Crutchfield sets commitment date
Pine Bluff (Ark.) four-star athlete Courtney Crutchfield is announcing his commitment on April 21. He revealed the news Sunday night over Twitter.
Crutchfield is the No. 371 overall prospect and No. 18 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Arkansas.
A 6-foot-0.5, 170-pound recruit, Crutchfield holds 14 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Arkansas is leading for his commitment at 67.8%.
The Razorbacks and Rebels are two of the programs that have offered Crutchfield. Others include Auburn and LSU.
Multiple schools have hosted Crutchfield this year. They include Arkansas (Jan. 21), Auburn (April 8), LSU (March 10), Ole Miss (March 21) and TCU (March 24).
Crutchfield is committing on the same day as another top player in Arkansas: Pine Bluff (Ark.) Wilbur D. Mills four-star defensive lineman Charleston Collins.
Collins is the No. 200 overall prospect and No. 23 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Arkansas.
On3 rates Collins higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 121 overall prospect, No. 15 defensive lineman and No. 1 player in Arkansas.

Crutchfield discusses a few of his schools of interest
Crutchfield enjoyed his visit to Auburn, as he told Keith Niebuhr that his trip to The Plains was a “10 out of 10.” He also shared that he plans to returns to the Tigers and they will get an official visit.
“It was a fun environment,” Crutchfield said. “I really enjoyed myself down here this weekend. I will be looking forward to getting back down here pretty soon.”
The Arkansas native also enjoyed his visit to LSU.
“It was good,” Crutchfield told Billy Embody of The Bengal Tiger on March 16. “Man, the food (was great) and it was lit the whole time. Plus, all the coaches were lit. The energy stood out. They was just live all-around. It’s a great environment to be in.”
“They really want me,” he added. “Good overall plan. They’re not forcing me to make a decision on whether I wanna play offense or defense. They said they want players like me.”
Meanwhile, Ole Miss is intriguing to him. He told Zach Berry of OM Spirit on Feb. 21 that “Ole Miss has a lot to offer.”
“I know they’re known for producing NFL wide receivers,” Crutchfield said.
