Former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns standout receiver Kyren Lacy entered the NCAA Transfer Portal over the weekend and it’s proving fruitful already.

Lacy reported offers from the Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels and LSU Tigers on Monday. Central Florida and South Alabama also threw their hats in the ring for the Group of Five riser.

According to BengalTiger.com’s Billy Embody, Lacy has interest in sticking close to home with the LSU Tigers. Brian Kelly could use Lacy alongside sophomore star Kayshon Boutte.

Lacy has 50 receptions over two seasons, racking up 668 yards and 10 touchdowns. He led the Ragin’ Cajuns with six touchdown receptions in 2021 and finished fourth on the team in yards.

Lacy ranked as the No. 162 overall wide receiver in the country and No. 36 prospect in Louisana, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Lacy enters portal after denials

After rumors began swirling of Kyren Lacy’s potential departure, the wideout took to social media to deny the reports.

“Kill the rumors,” Lacy posted with the hashtags #LetsGeaux and #DontPlay. “Ima Cajun Baby.”

However, several days after his proclamation, he entered the portal anyway.

“I would like to start off by saying thank you to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun family,” Lacy said in a Twitter statement. “I appreciate how y’all embraced & believed in me. I’m forever grateful for my coaches, teammates, & fans during these last two years. The Ragin’ Cajuns family will always hold a special place in my heart.”
