Creighton junior guard Pop Isaacs plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

Isaacs averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists before ending his 2024-25 season after eight games following a season-ending hip injury in December. Now Isaacs re-enters the portal for the second straight offseason after signing with Creighton following two seasons at Texas Tech.

Given the early-season setback, Isaacs would qualify for a redshirt and should have two more seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining wherever he lands next. Prior to signing with Creighton, Isaacs was being heavily recruited by Kentucky and first-year Wildcats head coach Mark Pope.

Isaacs, a 6-foot-2 sharpshooting guard, earned All-Big 12 honors in his two seasons with the Red Raiders averaging a team-high 15.8 points in 2023-24 while starting all 34 games that season. That followed a sensational rookie season in Lubbock, when he made the Big 12 All-Freshman Team after averaging 11.5 points per game while starting 24 of the 25 games he played in 2022-23.

Isaacs was a four-star prospect out of Coronado (Utah) High, where he as the No. 92 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle and the No. 15 ranked point guard, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Report: Lawsuit alleging transfer guard Pop Isaacs assaulted a minor dismissed

A civil complaint alleging former Texas Tech guard Richard “Pop” Isaacs assaulted a minor was dismissed last April, according to Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman.

According to the lawsuit — originally obtained by ESPN in January 2024 — the parents of a 17-year-old girl from The Bahamas alleged a booster from Texas Tech bought alcohol for Isaacs and a teammate. Their daughter was in the room with another girl, and she couldn’t give consent because she was intoxicated. The age of consent in The Bahamas is 16 years old.

The parents alleged Isaacs took the girl to another room, where she was assaulted after she “attempted to fight him off,” according to the lawsuit. They were seeking $1 million in damages.

According to ESPN, Red Raiders head coach Grant McCasland was made aware of the allegations against Isaacs on Dec. 14, 2023, and he took it to Texas Tech’s athletic director and other university officials upon learning about it.
