Texas A&M WR Cyrus Allen plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Texas A&M wide receiver Cyrus Allen plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. He spent one year in College Station after transferring from Louisiana Tech and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Allen was a starter at wide receiver for Texas A&M this season, totaling 269 yards and a touchdown before suffering a season-ending injury. That came after a career year at Louisiana Tech in 2023 where he hade 778 yards and four touchdowns before making his way to College Station.
Allen played high school football at New Orleans (La.) L.B. Landry, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,293 overall player from the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

When Allen first arrived at Louisiana Tech as a freshman, he put together a solid debut season. He was third on the roster with 500 yards and four touchdowns, but later moved up to the No. 2 option after Tre Harris’ departure as he put together a breakout sophomore season in 2023.

Allen’s biggest game at Texas A&M came against Florida when he had three receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown to lead the Aggies to the victory at The Swamp. However, just 10 games into his time with Texas A&M, he suffered an apparent elbow injury against New Mexico State. He underwent surgery and missed the rest of the year as a result.
“Unfortunately, Cyrus Allen is going to be out for the season,” Texas A&M coach Mike Elko said during a press conference. “He’ll have surgery on his arm, and hopefully we will get him back sooner rather than later. But we won’t have him the rest of the year. So, now it’s kind of turning our attention ahead to a really talented Auburn team.”
