D1Baseball released its updated college baseball top 25 rankings on Monday, and the poll reflects what’s long been suspected of the 2022 baseball season: the SEC seems like the conference to beat.

The SEC boasts several perennial contenders, and the top 25 is reflective of that — this week, four of the top five teams in D1Baseball’s top 25 are from the SEC. Moreover, five of the top 10 and seven of the top 25 are from the SEC, and that all comes after the reigning national champion Mississippi State Bulldogs fell out of the top 25 this week. However, several other conferences boast multiple ranked teams, including the Big 12, which has two of the top 10, and the ACC, which has five of the top 15.

With conference play now in full swing, here’s a look at how the nation’s top 25 college baseball teams stacked up, according to D1Baseball.

Texas, however, didn’t fall far after an upset loss to Texas State and an upset series loss to South Carolina dropped them to No. 2 last week. This week, the Longhorns stayed in place at No. 2, while Arkansas and Vanderbilt — which went a combined 13-1 on the week — held their spots at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Tennessee climbed up two spots in D1Baseball’s top 25 after sweeping South Carolina, the same team that beat Texas in two of three just last weekend.

Overall, there were a few fallers this week, per D1Baseball: Notre Dame (from No. 6 to No. 12), LSU (from No. 13 to No. 21) and Clemson (from No. 18 to No. 24). Meanwhile, some of the biggest risers week-over-week included Virginia (from No. 19 to No. 10) and Arizona (No. 16 to No. 11).
