D1Baseball releases 2023 Preseason Top 25 rankings
D1Baseball has released its 2023 Preseason Top 25 rankings for the college baseball season.
The D1Baseball rankings are now in their ninth season and this is the first year that LSU will open the season atop these rankings. This is largely due to the incredibly strong recruiting class that the Tigers landed this offseason in an attempt to reload.
Meanwhile, defending national champion Ole Miss isn’t being completely disrespected. The Rebels are coming in at fourth overall in the D1Baseball rankings.

Notably, the Big Ten only has one program that cracked the top 25. Out of all the Power Five conferences, that’s the fewest. The team making those rankings is Maryland.
In general, the vast majority of the teams in these rankings are southern teams. This shouldn’t be too big of a surprise, though. In warmer climates, it’s easier to play and practice year-round. Players are more likely to want to play in those climates.
The college baseball season starts on February 17, 2023.
