On Sunday night, the NCAA unveiled its 16 regional hosts for the upcoming NCAA Baseball Tournament. At 12 noon ET on Monday, the full bracket will be revealed. Ahead of the bracket reveal, D1Baseball took one final stab at its projected Field of 64.

D1Baseball’s projections feature some changes after the results of both Sunday’s conference championship games and the 16 hosts that have now been announced. With a couple of teams that had strong arguments to host (Notre Dame, Oklahoma, etc.) left out of the regional hosting picture, there are some quality teams set to become No. 2 seeds.

There were also some conference championship games that resulted in some bid-stealing. One example of that is Michigan, who defeated Rutgers in the Big Ten Championship, likely saving the postseason hopes for the Wolverines.

Each of the 16 regional host sites is paired with another host site for Super Regionals. For example, the regional containing the No. 1 overall seed (in this case, the winner of the Knoxville Regional) will face off the winner of the regional with the No. 16 seed (in this case, the Statesboro Regional).

Regional play will get underway on Friday, with Super Regionals to take place the following weekend. Whoever emerges from Super Regionals will head to Omaha to participate in the College World Series.

D1Baseball’s last four teams in their final projected Field of 64 are Rutgers, Coastal Carolina, UTSA, and Liberty. Their first four teams out are Wofford, Dallas Baptist, Old Dominion, Grand Canyon.
