LSU forward Daimion Collins has been cleared for all basketball-related activities, per Jon Rothstein. Collins transferred from Kentucky to LSU ahead of the 2023-24 season but only played in six games for the Tigers due to a dislocated shoulder.

Collins suffered the injury against North Florida on Nov. 24. He was having perhaps his best performance as a Tiger before dislocating his shoulder, boasting nine points, four rebounds and two blocks in only 13 minutes.

In his six appearances last season, Collins averaged 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per game while shooting 62.5% from the field. In his two seasons at Kentucky, Collins made 58 appearances and two starts. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.

Daimion Collins played high school basketball at Atlanta High School (TX), where he was a five-star prospect and the No. 15 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

In his senior season at Atlanta High School, Collins averaged 35.2 points, 14.4 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 6.2 blocks per game. For his efforts, he was named the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year and was a Naismith All-America Third Team selection.

Now, Collins will look to reach his potential as he enters his redshirt junior season.

Angel Reese reflects on relationship with Hailey Van Lith

After winning a national championship in 2023, Kim Mulkey hit the transfer portal to bolster the LSU roster. One of most notable additions was Hailey Van Lith, who looked to add even more firepower to a roster that already included Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson.

Van Lith, however, had an up-and-down go in Baton Rouge. While she averaged a career-high 3.6 assists, her scoring dropped to 11.6 points to go with 2.4 rebounds per game. After the season, Van Lith again entered the portal and committed to TCU.

As Van Lith joined a star-studded LSU roster, Reese noticed she was quiet at first. That led her to get closer to her new teammate, and their relationship is still strong as Reese wraps up her first season in the WNBA.

“We weren’t, like, super close, but I was probably one of the closer people with her on the team because I feel like she was really distant from everybody else,” Reese said on her Unapologetically Angel podcast. “So, I kind of felt bad, so I was like, let me get close to her and see who she is because she was the only white girl on the team.

“I didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable. I wanted her to feel as comfortable as she could, being able to come into a situation where she had to transfer. She was super successful at Louisville, and for a little while, she struggled with confidence in the beginning, and just being able to be there for her.”
