Why Colorado Buffs QB Shedeur Sanders Not Shaking Hands With Colorado State QB Is NOT A BIG DEAL

The Colorado Buffaloes are getting ready to open Big 12 play with a game against the Baylor Bears. Ahead of that game, head coach Deion Sanders shared an update on the health of several players, including running back Dallan Hayden.

For now, Sanders isn’t ruling Hayden out of the game against Baylor. However, he admitted that he wants to see him in practice before he makes a decision about the game itself.

“We don’t know where he is right now or what he wants to do,” Deion Sanders said. “I like to see it at practice before I see it in the game. So, if he’s able to play, he’s going to play.”

Dallan Hayden came to Colorado following the 2023 season as a transfer from Ohio State. The hope was that he could add a spark to the Buffaloes rushing game. However, it has continued to be a problem for the team and Hayden has rushed for just 52 yards on 14 carries this season.

Thanks to the injury, Dallan Hayden was forced to miss Colorado’s most recent game against rival Colorado State.

From there, Deion Sanders was asked about defensive lineman Chidozie Nwankwo, who suffered what has been described as an AC joint injury against Nebraska. As of now, it’s the “same thing,” for Nwankwo as it is for Hayden. Hopefully, he can get into practice and show what he’s capable of doing there before Saturday comes along.

Another injury that Colorado is dealing with is to defensive lineman Taurean Carter. A graduate student, Carter transferred into the program from Arkansas. He made his impact felt early in his time with Colorado but now he’s been ruled completely out for the game against Baylor.

“TC’s out,” Sanders said. “He’s out out.”

If Nwankwo is going to be out against Baylor, then that coupled with Carter’s absence is going to be a major issue for Colorado as their depth along the defensive line gets tested.

Shilo Sanders jokes about playing for clicks vs Baylor amid injury recovery

One Colorado player who is still working to recover from his own injury is Shilo Sanders, a defensive back and the son of Deion Sanders. Amid that effort to get on the field, he joked about playing for clicks against Baylor.

“Alright y’all, since we play for clicks, If this video gets to 200k I’m going to play this weekend,” Shilo Sanders said.

Given that he’s recovering from a broken arm that, luckily, didn’t require surgery, it’s doubtful that Shilo would be able to see the field just two weeks after suffering the injury. At the same time, the injury doesn’t seem to have hurt his sense of humor.
