The Dallas Cowboys have scooped up former Las Vegas Raiders long snapper Trent Sieg, the club announced on Wednesday. Sieg is inking a deal with Dallas after five seasons with the Raiders. He signed with them as an undrafted free agent in 2018 out of Colorado State.

The Cowboys are revamping the special teams unit for the 2023 season. Former starting long snapper Jake McQuaide signed a deal out of free agency with the Lions earlier this week. Meanwhile, several other Cowboys specialists are still on the free agency market.

Through five seasons in the league, Sieg has made $4.19 million in career earnings. He signed the biggest deal of his career in 2021 for three years, $3.42 million with the Raiders.

Sieg, a Colorado native, attended Colorado State where he played in all 13 games for four seasons from 2014-17. He redshirted his first year on campus.

Cowboys continue signing streak

Although not as hectic as Tuesday, the Cowboys continued their signing streak on Wednesday. After adding Ronald Jones and Chuma Edoga on Tuesday, Dallas re-signed practice squad DE Takkarist McKinley for 2023.

Up next on the to-do list for the Cowboys is securing veteran defensive tackle Johnathan Hankinsaccording to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.

Hankins joined Dallas in October in a trade that sent the Cowboys’ 2023 sixth-round pick to the Raiders, and a 2024 seventh-round pick back to Dallas.
