Dallas Cowboys update status of Tyron Smith vs. Washington
The Dallas Cowboys have made a significant decision on the status of their All-Pro left tackle ahead of Sunday’s matchup vs. the Washington Football Team.
According to Michael Gehlken, Cowboys offensive lineman Tyron Smith (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday evening’s game vs. Washington. Rookie safety Israel Mukuamu (illness) is questionable. All other players on the 53-man roster, including tailback Tony Pollard (ankle), carry no game-status designation.
With the Titans knocking off the 49ers on Thursday night, the Cowboys officially clinched a playoff spot and may be wise to preserve Smith until they need him the most. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time but this feels like the right move.
Dallas Cowboys release injury report vs. Washington
The Cowboys have the opportunity to clinch the NFC East at home on Sunday, with division rivals the Washington Football Team coming into town. It will be the second time the two have met in the space of three weeks, with Dallas coming out on top in the first.
Ahead of the game, the Dallas Cowboys released the injury report, with only one player not participating in practice on Wednesday. Starting left tackle Tyron Smith, who is dealing with an ankle injury, was DNP. He missed last week’s game against the New York Giants as well.
