Current ESPN college football analyst and former Florida and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen dropped his picks for eight Week 6 games and he wasn’t nearly as bold as last week when upsets were the pick du jour.

However, he does have one home underdog winning this weekend and another underdog pulling it out away from home.

Not only are they ranked and hosting ESPN’s College Gameday on campus for the first time ever, Kansas will upset TCU and move to 6-0 and be bowl eligible, according to Mullen. As of Friday afternoon, TCU was favored by seven against the Jayhawks.

And Mullen has BYU toppling Notre Dame in Las Vegas as the Irish are favored by 3.5 points as of Friday afternoon.

Perhaps the boldest pick from Mullen for Week 6 is daring to throw his hat in the ring on the Red River Showdown. Texas is a shade more than a touchdown favorite since the news of Quinn Ewers returning from injury broke on Thursday, but try to remember the last conventional game between Oklahoma and Texas at the Cotton Bowl.

Mullen has the Longhorns getting the win, not a bad pick given the Sooners putrid performances on defense of late, but certainly one with a chance to come back and bite him.

If correct, Mullen has Alabama and Tennessee playing an undefeated-on-undefeated game next weekend

Mullen has Alabama besting Texas A&M in a game that not long ago was very highly anticipated for a number of reasons, but the Aggies have struggled on offense all season. Tennessee will conquer a slightly tougher foe, going on the road to beat LSU, according to Mullen.

If those results hold up, we’ll get an undefeated, Top 10 showdown in Neyland Stadium between the Crimson Tide and Volunteers that would have far-reaching College Football Playoff implications.

And given how Rocky Top showed out for the Florida game, that sort of Alabama-Tennessee showdown would be appointment television.

Here’s the latest Vegas Insider point spreads for the Week 6 games Mullen picked.

No. 8 Tennessee (-3) at No. 25 LSU
No. 11 Utah (-3.5) at No. 18 UCLA
No. 17 TCU (-7) at No. 19 Kansas
No. 16 BYU vs. Notre Dame (-3.5)
Arkansas at No. 23 Mississippi State (-9)
Texas A&M at No. 1 Alabama (-24)
Texas (-8.5) vs. Oklahoma
Florida State at No. 14 North Carolina State (-3)
