Dan Mullen released his top 25 college football rankings following Week 2 of the season. With dominating displays and upsets, it was another wild week.

Most polls have a certain team, cough, cough, Georgia, as the No. 1 squad. But Mullen decided to go in a different direction.

Let’s dive into Mullen’s Top 25 teams following Week 2 of the college football season.

1. Ohio State

Mullen has the Buckeyes as his top team in the country. You can’t really go wrong here with them or Georgia.

On paper, both rosters are absolutely loaded and have blowout wins in the first two weeks. This early in the season, it’s just about how you prefer head to head and it seems like Mullen favors Ohio State.

2. Georgia

Mullen has the Bulldogs as his No. 2 team in the country, a little surprising compared to the polls. But, Georgia has wins over Clemson and Tennessee Tech already, both blowouts.

Carson Beck is a Heisman contender at quarterback but this team will be tested against the best teams in the country this year. The schedule is brutal!

3. Texas

Texas didn’t jump to No. 1 or 2? No matter, Mullen still has the Longhorns at No. 3 following the big road at Michigan.

This team is legit, especially with a defense that can cause havoc. Everyone knows about Quinn Ewers and the offense, but this Texas team is certainly legit.

4. Alabama

Alabama doesn’t really get penalized despite a weird game with South Florida, again. Scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter of a 42-16 win will do that for you.

Mullen thinks this is a top five team in the country, but actually only the third best team in the SEC. Funny how that works.

5. Ole Miss

The Ole Miss train is running and running fast. The Rebels beat MSTU 52-3 and Jaxson Dart had a day where he completed 24 straight passes.

Insane stuff right? It’s still early, but Mullen loves Ole Miss right now and this could very well be a legit challenger for the top of the conference by the end of the season.

6. Miami

Mullen might be higher on MIami than most polls and analysts. The Hurricanes dominated Florida A&M to improve to 2-0 and the Cam Ward Heisman campaign continued.

It’ll be interesting to see if this team remains at the top of the ACC all season long. As of right now, this team is the best in the conference.

7. Oregon

Oregon edged out Boise State in a thriller on Saturday night after trailing at halftime. While some might want to penalize the Ducks for a lackluster performance and a close call in two weeks, Mullen didn’t.

Dan Lanning and company are still loaded on paper and there’s a long season to go. The good news is, Dillon Gabriel played relatively well and Oregon managed to get 102 rushing yards from Jordan James for a balanced offensive attack, putting up 37 points.

8. Tennessee

Mullen is probably in the category of Nico Iamaleava is an extremely good quarterback. Over the course of two games, Tennessee scored 120 points.

Seriously, the Volunteers are a machine. Putting up 51 points against a previously ranked NC State team on the road is absurd. In a game that was expected to be closer based on the Wolfpack’s attack, this was no contest.

9. USC

Mullen has the Trojans in the top 10 and it took only two weeks for USC to make everyone forget about last year, right? Lincoln Riley is seemingly pushing all of the right buttons through two weeks.

Of course, the schedule only gets harder, especially with a trip to Ann Arbor in two weeks. Miller Moss has filled in seamlessly as the QB as well.

10. Missouri

The Tigers just made the cut of Mullen’s top 10 this week. With back to back shutouts to begin the season 2-0, you really couldn’t ask for a better start.

Missouri actually gets an AP Poll ranked matchup against Boston College next week. The Eagles are No. 24 in that one as well as Mullen’s poll today.
