Dan Mullen reveals keys to Texas A&M victory over LSU in Top 25 showdown
One of the biggest games of the college football weekend is Texas A&M hosting LSU Saturday night in College Station.
ESPN analyst and former Florida head coach Dan Mullen shared his thoughts on the game on SportsCenter Thursday afternoon. Mullen broke down what it will take for Texas A&M to come out on top and also made his pick for the matchup.
“Well, Texas A&M’s going to come in and say, ‘Hey guys, we lost the first game of the season, everybody counted us out. Everybody’s saying we don’t have a chance this year. We get the opportunity to show them,'” Dan Mullen said. “And I’m going to tell you what they need to do, they need to embrace this crowd in College Station. They’re going to be loud. They’re going to be boisterous.
“And they need to follow their plan, what has gotten them here so far.”
That plan has involved being excellent on defense under first-year head coach Mike Elko and doing enough offensively to win games.
Texas A&M is allowing only 17.7 points per game, which ranks No. 19 nationally. The Aggies are also rushing for 219 yards per game, led by star running back Le’Veon Moss, who has rushed for 674 yards and 8 touchdowns, while averaging 6.4 yards per carry.

“They need to run the football; they need to play great defense. And they need to feed off the energy of the crowd, and I think they will do that and get a win over LSU,” Dan Mullen said.
Saturday’s game between Texas A&M and LSU is a huge matchup for the SEC, as well as the College Football Playoff. The winner of Saturday’s game will be in a good spot to reach the College Football Playoff and SEC title game. Dan Mullen likes Texas A&M to come out on top.
Those two teams are the only undefeated teams left in league play. It has been an impressive turnaround for the Aggies and Tigers after they both lost their opening games of the season.
