Danny Kanell reacts to sluggish Florida State first half with prediction
Boo birds have been out and quite vocal Monday night in Tallahassee. Florida State had a dreadful first half against Boston College, mainly on the offensive end. Mike Norvell’s squad is down eight points heading into the halftime break, 14-8, as the home faithful are not too pleased with the first-half performance.
Social media has been quick to troll Florida State but at least a few of their fans are confident they walk out of Doak Campbell Stadium with a victory. CBS Sports’ Danny Kanell believes the Seminoles will “settle down” before earning a much-needed win.
“FSU is going to settle down and win this game,” Kanell said via X.

Early in the second half, the prediction from Kanell is going poorly. DJ Uiagalelei threw an interception on the team’s opening drive on fourth down, putting Boston College deep in the red zone. Not too long after, the ball was punched in and the lead was extended to 15.
For Kanell to ultimately be correct, a lot is going to have to change — and quickly. Florida State does need to settle down a little bit, specifically Uiagalelei, as he continues to struggle early in his tenure with the Seminoles.

Florida State fans chant for Brock Glenn after poor first-half
Florida State was on the ropes in the first half against Boston College, getting out to an early 14-0 hole in front of the home crowd. Not much has gone right on the offensive end, even with a field goal getting the Seminoles on the board. DJ Uiagalelei has completed just three of 10 passes for 30 yards thus far.
The fans are not too happy with the Florida State quarterback right now, suggesting head coach Mike Norvell makes a change. Following a third-down incompletion, eventually leading to the field goal, the crowd chanted “We want Brock” in support of backup Brock Glenn.
Glenn is a second-year player and was a former three-star recruit. He played high school football at Memphis (TN) Lausanne Collegiate School, where he was a three-star prospect. The quarterback was the No. 465 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
