Florida State guard Daquan Davis plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Florida State freshman guard Daquan Davis plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after just one season with the Seminoles, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.
The 6-foot-1, 176-pounder was the highest-ranked prospect to ink with head coach Leonard Hamilton — who’s stepping down at the conclusion of this season — and FSU in the 2024 cycle, choosing the Sunshine State program over Georgia Tech. Davis was also previously committed to Providence.
Davis began the year coming off the bench but eventually took over a starting role and began 20 of the 31 games he played in, missing just one game all season. Playing over 25 minutes per game, Davis averaged 8.8 points, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds and more than a steal per game. He shot 36.1 percent from the field and was an 82.6-percent free throw shooter this season.
Florida State finished the season with a 17-15 record after bowing out in the first round of the ACC Tournament earlier this week. With Hamilton stepping down from his longtime post as head coach, Davis is now on the move.
A native of Baltimore, Davis played his senior season of high school basketball for Overtime Elite in Atlanta. He ranked as the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 16 point guard in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
