It appears as though “Comin’ To Your City’ will continue to be the theme song for ESPN’s College GameDay, but some new voices will be taking over.

College GameDay announced Monday on Twitter that Darius Rucker, Lainey Wilson and The Cadillac Three “are the new voices of our anthem.”

“The latest version of ‘Comin’ To Your City’ will be here Saturday morning,” the tweet continues.

Darius Rucker is a huge sports fan, who attend the University of South Carolina. He started Hootie & The Blowfish with some fellow Gamecocks classmates and is now a solo country artist. Needless to say, Rucker is excited to be a part of ESPN College GameDay.

“Oh man, I’ve watched that opening so many times. I used to sit in my room and go, ‘I’ve gotta write a song so I can do the opening of GameDay,'” Rucker said in the video. “What I’m getting to do is pretty amazing.”

Lainey Wilson is a country music star who was named the Female Artist of the Year for 2023. Wilson has had a ton of recent success as a country artist and is pumped to keep that going through being a part of College GameDay.

“It means a lot to be the voice of College GameDay, and I’ll tell you what, I’ve got some very impressed family members now,” Wilson said. “When I called them and told them about this, they were like, ‘Alright, she’s really doing something now.'”

The Cadillac Three is a country rock band, which was originally known as The Cadillac Black. Like Rucker and Wilson, they consider this a big deal.

“I just want to be the first thing people see and hear Saturday morning to get them fired up,” a member of The Cadillac Three said.

ESPN College GameDay announced last week that Big & Rich would no longer be performing the intro for the hit weekly show. The duo had performed the intro to the show for 16 consecutive years.

“It’s been a great 16 years being the voices of the College GameDay open, and now we’re excited to officially pass the torch to these extremely talented artists,” Big & Rich posted on Twitter. “We can’t say who just yet, but tune in to ESPN on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 9 a.m. to find out.”

Now the artists are out. Up next, fans will get to hear the new version of the song. College GameDay will be in Charlotte this weekend for Week 1 as South Carolina faces North Carolina.
