David Pollack sees Sam Leavitt, Dante Moore as the best values on Heisman Trophy betting board

Discussion around the Heisman Trophy winner for the upcoming season is always a major topic of conversation amongst college football fans.
The names thrown out this year among the favorites are Texas quarterback Arch Manning, Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
“See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack” host David Pollack (formerly of ESPN) however sees great value in two other quarterbacks.
“By far, the best odds on the board to me is [Arizona State quarterback] Sam Leavitt,” Pollack said. “Give me Leavitt. I think he’s +2500. I’m not putting him below three as best quarterbacks in college football. He plays the most important position, I think they’re gonna be in the College Football Playoff hunt, I think they’re gonna be a highly ranked team for the season and they’re gonna put up silly numbers.
“He’s gonna run it and he’s gonna throw it. I think that’s really, really good odds man. He didn’t stay healthy a year ago and it cost him some missing some time, but those odds stood out as like ‘give me that right now.’ I want them right now.”

After transferring from Michigan State prior to last season, Leavitt led the Sun Devils to their first ever appearance in the College Football Playoff. He threw for 2,885 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions and returns his leading receiver Jordyn Tyson this season.
Along with Leavitt, Pollack sees great value in Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, who is entering his first season as the starting quarterback in Eugene.
“I’ll give you one other, because I don’t know if he’s gonna be here but I’ll mention him,” Pollack said. “Dante Moore. A transfer from UCLA. He’s at Oregon now and he’s the quarterback. If you’re watching Will Stein and you’re watching Dan Lanning and you’re watching Oregon, they’re not getting worse. Their trajectory is continuing to climb and they’re gonna be great. They’re gonna be in the hunt. You think Bo Nix was in the hunt? Yes. Was [Dillon Gabriel] in the hunt? Yes. He was a finalist. If I’m looking for value outside of the top guys, Oregon quarterbacks have had success.”
In his one season as a starter at UCLA (2023), Moore passed for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He transferred to Oregon last season, but sat behind Dillon Gabriel. He was set to have a big time pass catcher in Evan Stewart as his lead receiver, but he suffered a torn patellar tendon that will sideline him for the 2025 season.
