Day 1 ACC Baseball Tournament results, updated bracket
The 2024 ACC Baseball Tournament is underway. Miami and Louisville kicked off the action on Tuesday morning, with the Hurricanes earning an 8-5 victory at Truist Field in Charlotte.
No. 11 seed Miami is now 1-0 in pool play, while No. 7 seed Louisville falls to 0-1. Freshman phenom Daniel Cuvet hit a pair of home runs against the Cardinals to lead the Hurricanes to the win.

The other team in Pool B, which is Clemson, opens ACC Baseball Tournament play on Thursday against Miami.
In the second game of the Wednesday slate of action for the ACC baseball tournament, Florida State was able to stave off an improbable comeback by Georgia Tech. The Seminoles survived a 9th-inning rally from the Yellow Jackets to win 12-9. Georgia Tech must quickly bounce back as they play Virginia in less than 24 hours on Wednesday morning. Florida State will not play again until Friday when they square off against the No. 4 Seeded Cavaliers.
In the last of the night, the Duke Blue Devils were able to overcome an early 5-0 deficit to take down Virginia Tech. After the Hokies put up an impressive five runs in the second inning, Duke back doored with six in the third. Virginia Tech would make it interesting late in the contest but ultimately fall 11-8
With two of the three lower seeds in action tonight losing, their hopes of capturing the ACC title have officially gone up in smoke. Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech needed to sweep their pool in order to have a shot at the ACC conference crown and automatic bid. Now, the best they can do is play spoiler in their pool.
The ACC Baseball Tournament has four pools, with three teams in each pool. If the teams are tied at the completion of pool play, the team with the highest seed in the respective pool will advance.
Pool A features No. 1 seed North Carolina, No. 8 Wake Forest and No. 12 Pitt.
Pool B has No. 2 Clemson, No. 7 Louisville and No. 11 Miami.
Pool C includes No. 3 NC State, No. 6 Duke and No. 10 Virginia Tech.
Finally, Pool D is made up of No. 4 Virginia, No. 5 Florida State and No. 9 Georgia Tech.
The winner of Pool A will face the winner of Pool D in the semifinals on Saturday, while the winners of Pool B and Pool C will also face off.
