4-star CB Daylen Austin sets Louisville official visit

Long Beach (Calif.) Long Beach Poly four-star cornerback and LSU commit Daylen Austin will take an official visit to Louisville this weekend, he announced on Tuesday.
Austin is the No. 125 overall prospect and No. 13 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in California.
On3 rates Austin higher than other recruiting services, per the Industry Comparison. In the most recent 2023 On300, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 102 prospect, No. 14 cornerback and the No. 8 player in California.

The 6-foot-0.5, 176-pound defensive back is currently the fifth-highest-rated prospect in LSU’s 2023 recruiting class. The Tigers’ group ranks No. 6 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the SEC.
Austin has an On3 NIL Valuation of $143K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“Brings a combination of size, athleticism and playmaking to the table at cornerback. He has solid size at 5-foot-11.5, 176 pounds. Austin has shown some improved speed this spring, running 10.82 seconds in the 100 meters. He had a strong junior season and really excelled as a return man. We saw Austin’s playmaking ability on display as he took several kick and punt returns to the house. He drives on the ball in coverage. Austin also shows ball skills at corner with the ability to track and high-point the ball downfield.”
