Deion Burks update: Oklahoma at Ole Miss Thursday injury report revealed
For the first time as members of the same conference, Ole Miss and Oklahoma are set to meet on the gridiron. With that, both sides have shared an updated injury report for the Thursday before the game is set to kickoff.
A major concern for Oklahoma has been the health of their wide receivers on the offensive side of the ball. That notably has included star wide receiver Deion Burks, who head coach Brent Venables recently described as “day-to-day.” Four other Sooners wide receivers have already been ruled out. On the other side, Ole Miss has had its own injury issues. That includes multiple players who have already been ruled out. Also of concern is edge rusher Princely Umanmielen who is a key for Ole Miss’ pass rush.

More on the key Oklahoma-Ole Miss matchup
Coming into this game, both Oklahoma and Ole Miss are looking to bounce back from losses. However, their seasons are shaping up very differently at the same time.
The Sooners have lost three of their first four games in SEC play, including getting outscored 69-12 in their last two games. Amid severe offensive struggles, Brent Venables has made multiple switches at the starting quarterback role, including one ahead of the game against Ole Miss with Jackson Arnold once again getting ready to start. On top of that, Oklahoma made a change at offensive coordinator, firing Seth Littrell and promoting Joe Jon Finley to play caller.

Michigan vs. MSU fight
Big Ten will not punish Wolverines or Spartans following the end-of-game fight on Saturday.
Ole Miss, meanwhile, lost to LSU before going into their bye week. That loss to LSU was their second of the season and ended any margin of error for Ole Miss as the Rebels try and make a run at the College Football Playoff.
The change at offensive coordinator for Oklahoma is going to be a challenge for Ole Miss, but it’s not one that head coach Lane Kiffin believes is possible to know much about ahead of the game.
“There’s no way to predict that,” Lane Kiffin said. “Usually they don’t change a whole lot when someone’s been there, and was the co-coordinator already. Even if there is, you can’t figure it out. There’s no magic formula to figure out what they’re thinking.”
Kickoff is currently scheduled for 12:00 p.m. EST at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.
