Houston (Texas) North Shore four-star receiver Quanell X Farrakhan Jr. took his official visit to Colorado over the weekend to spend time with head coach Deion Sanders and the staff.

Boulder is a place the Lone Star State playmaker can see himself.

“I loved it in Colorado,” Farrakhan said. “They made me feel like I was at home and I believe that they could get me to the next level.”

Farrakhan said “Coach Prime” when asked why it was a place that could get the best out of him.

“How real he was,” Farrakhan added. “Nothing was fake. He kept it real.”

Farrakhan also took a visit to UCLA last week. He’ll make his college decision on July 13.

Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur made an impression on Farrakhan.

“He was a head coach in the NFL for two teams,” Farrakhan said. “He knows what it takes to get me to the next level.”

Farrakhan liked the vibe around the area.

“We got to go swim in the lake in Colorado, spent lots of time with the coaches and ate at good restaurants,” Farrakhan said.

As a junior Farrakhan turned 46 receptions into 809 yards and 12 touchdowns.
