Chandler (Ariz.) Compass Prep four-star point guard Del Jones is down to eight schools, he tells On3.

Among the remaining contenders are Arizona State, Clemson, Ole Miss, Oregon, Providence, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and West Virginia. Jones has yet to schedule any official visits but he has visited Tennessee unofficially.

Jones is currently averaging 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game for Team Durant on the EYBL Circuit. He ranks as the No. 76 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 point guard in the class.

Scouting Report

“Del Jones is an aggressive, downhill lead guard. He has long arms with a projectable frame. Defensively, he is able to guard the point of attack; he has quick hands and feet. On the ball, he is a paint-touch lead guard. He has a crafty handle and gets downhill quickly. With his aggression comes inconsistent reads. He is also a streaky shooter, better off the bounce than the catch. He gets to the free-throw line, and there is some good passing in there.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

In a recent interview with On3, Jones personally broke down his game.

“I’m a true point guard,” Jones said. “I can get into the paint very well and find others when I get downhill. I’ve developed into more of a point guard, playing my role on the team to make sure we are all looking our best. With the way I get downhill and my change of pace I heard I play like Kemba Walker.”
