Denver Harris will play in the SEC or for the Texas Longhorns
Five-star cornerback Denver Harris (North Shore, TX) is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the 2022 class. With a final four schools of Alabama, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M; the speedy playmaker will play in the SEC or Big 12.
Harris is itching to get back on the field after a right ACL injury to end his junior season. With that said, he’s also nearing the conclusion of the recruiting process.
Following North Shore’s morning workout, the 6-foot, 180-pounder with 4.45 speed and intelligence to match offered up the latest.
“I went to LSU and Texas first,” Harris told On3. “I was going to do a Texas A&M official, but I had something in my head telling me to make it unofficial. Then I went to Alabama. I was going to try and squeeze in other schools like Georgia and Ohio State during the season, but I don’t know if they are messing with me still,”
The latest in a long line of nationally coveted defensive backs out of powerhouse North Shore broke down his top three. Alabama, LSU and Texas are way out front with Texas A&M on the peripheral.
“Man, I like Coach O. I like Coach Raymond. That’s the biggest part of the deal for LSU. I don’t want to leave Raymond, but I got to do what I got to do at the end of the day,”

After visiting LSU June 11-13, Harris and family made the drive to Austin to take in Texas.
“The environment. Everyone loves Austin. What is there not to love about Austin? I like the coaches. I like Coach Sark and what they are building up over there. Just wish I could see a whole season. Or two years to sit back and watch the program. If I go there, it would kind of be like going in blind,”
The busy month of June concluded with a trip to Alabama.
“I like Bama. Saban. Coach Saban and I have built a really good relationship. We talk on FaceTime every week. Coach Valai, we talk with him. My family. My mom, my dad and stuff. He’s a really cool guy,”
For Harris, the toughest part of the process is yet to come.
“It’s hard to pick a school. I can’t go wrong, but I don’t want to be the guy that transfers. I don’t like all that stuff. That’s why I want to wait it out, because I don’t want to decommit or anything.”
And for that reason, don’t expect Harris to commit in July or August. This is trending toward a late September decision.
