DePaul transfer guard Elijah Fisher commits to Pacific
Former DePaul guard Elijah Fisher has committed to Pacific, he announced via Instagram on Tuesday night. This will be Fisher’s third school in as many seasons, beginning his career with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Fisher spent just one season at DePaul and departed after a coaching change was made. His second season in college basketball resulted in some improvements, averaging 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
As a true freshman at Texas Tech, Fisher put up just 3.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Fisher was a role player for the Red Raiders then, playing just over 12 minutes per game.
Heading to Pacific, Fisher is hoping he can finish out his college career on a great note. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Fisher played high school basketball at Toronto (ON) Crestwood Prep, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 34 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Additionally, the former blue-chip was the No. 13 ranked small forward in the class.

More on Pacific heading into 2024-2025 season
It’s a new era for Pacific after naming Dave Smart to be the program’s next head coach. They moved on from Leonard Perry after he produced his third consecutive losing season. For the program as a whole, eight out of the last 11 years have been below .500 (since they joined the WCC), not including a 9-9 record during the COVID-19 season.
“I am thrilled with the opportunity to lead the Tigers into a new era,” Smart said. “Adam and President (Christopher) Callahan have an ambitious and exciting vision for the program, and I thank them for entrusting me with the task of bringing that vision to life.”
Smart has crossed paths with Fisher in the past, having a history with Canadian basketball. Fisher also coached this past season under Grant McCasland at Texas Tech.
The hope is the duo can join together and begin to make improvements out on the West Coast. Making the NCAA Tournament has been accomplished by Pacific before, most recently in 2013. A new head coach certainly brings optimism.
