Desmond Howard, Cardale Jones trade barbs after Heisman Trophy finalists revealed
The Heisman Trophy will be awarded on Saturday, December 10th. ESPN college football analyst Desmond Howard took to Twitter to tweet out the finalists and ask for everyone’s thoughts. Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones didn’t hold back when he gave his thoughts.
Cardale Jones quote tweeted Desmond Howard, seemingly in defense of current Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud.
“Just keep them slick ass comments to yourself up on stage and let these well deserving young men enjoy one of the biggest, prestigious moments a collegiate athlete can have. Congrats and good luck to all 4 finalists. #CJForHeisman” Cardale Jones tweeted.
This is a reference to last year’s Heisman ceremony. There, Desmond Howard had joked that Kenny Pickett, by virtue of standing between Aidan Hutchinson and CJ Stroud did a better job than the Buckeyes’ offensive line. Howard, being a Michigan graduate, was criticized then, and clearly, Cardale Jones didn’t forget.

However, Desmond Howard wasn’t going to take the criticism from Cardale Jones lying down. He responded with a quote tweet of his own.
“REALLY CARDALE!? It’s *really* one of BIGGEST and most PRESTIGIOUS MOMENTS a collegiate athlete can have??? Tell me more!” Desmond Howard tweeted.
“You should have played more school.”
This is, of course, a shot at Cardale Jones’ now infamous tweet where he declared that he didn’t go to Ohio State to play school. He went there to play football.
