Auburn’s push for Lucedale (Miss.) George County four-star quarterback and Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight has been well documented across this summer.

Multiple picks have been logged in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of the Tigers flipping Knight, who is visiting The Plains tomorrow for Auburn’s season-opener against Alabama A&M.

Knight is beginning his senior season on Friday — and he’s showing the SEC program some love before he gets back on campus. The 6-foot-4.5, 208-pounder is sporting an Auburn towel as the Rebels take on Kiln (Miss.) East Central.

Knight, who has been committed to Notre Dame since Sept. 18, 2023, quietly visited Auburn at the end of July for the Tigers’ Big Cat Weekend recruiting event that has resulted in absurd momentum on the trail. In the span of a couple weeks, Auburn’s 2025 class jumped up to No. 5 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings — and Knight could be next to join the fold.

Ole Miss has also remained in the picture and has the in-state angle to work with in Knight’s recruitment, but it’s the Tigers that are getting the elite QB back to campus to begin the 2024 season.

“My On3 RPM is on Auburn for Deuce Knight,” On3’s Steve Wiltfong said earlier this month. “I think, as I talk to you today, that’s where I ultimately see him still landing. But, Ole Miss is still in there for the Notre Dame quarterback commit and the Fighting Irish hoping he takes it into the season. Looking to get off to a fast start against Texas A&M on the road in primetime and go from there. But, I think he wants to play in the SEC. I give the edge to Auburn over Ole Miss right now.”

Knight is the No. 33 overall prospect and No. 7 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Mississippi.

“All signs point to Deuce heavily considering a flip to Auburn,” Auburn insider Jeffrey Lee said earlier this month. “I know Ole Miss is in this as well, but I really like Auburn here. I think if anybody has the best chance to flip him from Notre Dame, it’s Auburn for several reasons. Deuce Knight was one of the first 2025 quarterback names that I heard a year ago.”

Auburn’s visitor list this weekend features multiple flip targets alongside Knight. Ohio State Five-Star Plus+ cornerback commit Na’eem Offord and Miami four-star linebacker commit Elijah Melendez are also expected at Jordan Hare Stadium on Saturday.
