Back in the 2014 NFC Divisional round of the NFL playoffs, the Dallas Cowboys traveled to play the Green Bay Packers. The Packers won a close game, which was marred by controversy when Dez Bryant supposedly dropped a pass near the goal line. This led to a ton of criticism of the NFL’s rules surrounding catches and became one of the most memorable moments in Bryant’s career.

Now, during the final week of the regular season, the Detroit Lions made their way to Lambeau Field, where they ultimately eliminated the Packers from playoff contention. In the game, there was some more debate surrounding catches, including a butt catch.

So, Bryant took to Twitter with his thoughts on the game.

“Wow you can’t catch shit in Green Bay,” Dez Bryant tweeted with a laughing emoji.

Green Bay lost to Detroit 20-16, despite holding a field goal lead at halftime. With that, the Packers fell to 8-9, their first time losing season and their first time missing the playoffs since 2018.

The entire season was a surprise for Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers came into the season having won back-to-back MVP awards. Nobody expected him to struggle the way that he did. However, for a while at the end of the year, it looked like the Packers might fight their way back into contention. That didn’t happen, though, and now there are plenty of questions about the future in Green Bay.

Speculation about Aaron Rodgers’ future has begun

After the loss to Detroit, Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams asked if he could have Aaron Rodgers’ jersey following the game. Rodgers, however, didn’t want to give it to him, saying, “I’m gonna hold on to this one.”

This immediately led to speculation about Rodgers’ future. Why wouldn’t he give up that jersey? What is it about this jersey that could be special to Rodgers? Nobody knows for sure. However, that isn’t going to slow down the speculation.
