‘I am not committed:’ Dillon Tatum updates status with social media post
Days after multiple recruiting analysts projected Class of 2022 athlete Dillon Tatum of West Bloomfield (Mich.) High was set to commit to Michigan State, he took to social media to try and set the record straight.
“I am not committed to any school,” Tatum, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound do-it-all player, said. “I am still going through the recruiting process. A decision will be made on my time, and it will be my decision.”
Last week, Tatum told On3’s Chad Simmons he was hoping to wrap up his recruitment before the start of his senior season. That didn’t happen, though.
Dillon Tatum to take visits first
Simmons wrote last week that Dillon Tatum grew up a big Michigan State fan. His father is a big follower of the Spartans. Mel Tucker and the staff in East Lansing have built strong relationships too.
John Harbaugh hired Ron Bellamy from West Bloomfield earlier this year to coach in Ann Arbor. That connection is deep, too. Bellamy was Tatum’s coach the last three seasons.

It looks like Tatum is just not ready to decide. The intel is he is finalizing an official visit to Michigan for the weekend of September 11 when the Wolverines host Washington.
Michigan State will get him on campus after that, but the date is not locked in yet. There have been conservation about the official visit coming in late October when the Spartans host Michigan, but a commitment is expected well before then.
Tatum is a versatile athlete with the ability to be used in multiple ways on the offensive side of the ball.
