Donald Trump granddaughter Kai Trump commits to play golf at Miami
Kai Trump, the granddaughter of former president Donald Trump and the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. has verbally committed to play golf for the Miami Hurricanes.
She announced the verbal commitment on social media.
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami,” Trump wrote. “I would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey. I would also like to thank my great team for getting me to this point.”
The Miami Hurricanes have one of the best golf programs in the country, which isn’t a surprise given the school’s location. That includes winning a national title in 1984. That makes the Hurricanes one of just 17 programs to win a national championship in women’s golf since the NCAA began tracking stroke play champions in 1982. The Hurricanes themselves also claim four championships throughout the 1970s.
In 2018, the Hurricanes set their program record for a team 18-hole performance with a 267 at the Schooner Fall Classic.
The program has also sent multiple golfers to compete in the Espirito Santo WATC, Arnold Palmer Cup, and the Curtis Cup.
