Doug Gottlieb sweats through suit in coaching debut, return to Stillwater vs Oklahoma State
Gallagher-Iba Arena was the site of a special college basketball opener for a few reasons. Oklahoma State was beginning a new era under head coach Steve Lutz, hoping to get back on the right track. Lutz’s counterpart on Monday was making a debut too, with Doug Gottlieb coaching in his first-ever game with Green Bay.
Gottlieb is a graduate of Oklahoma State and led the Cowboys to the Elite Eight during his playing days. Winning in Stillwater would be a special moment but the stress is already piling on. Photos of Gottlieb sweating through his suit have emerged and gone viral on social media.
Not many coaches in college basketball are wearing suits anymore but sweating through them is nothing new. It will happen to the best out there if they decide to go away from the tracksuit look.

There is probably not much thinking from Gottlieb on what his appearance is at the moment. Green Bay is down just one point to Oklahoma State at halftime, having an opportunity to pull off an incredible upset.
Once getting back to the locker room, surely a few texts and potentially some laughs will be there waiting for Gottlieb.

Green Bay hires Doug Gottlieb to be head coach
Gottlieb was hired this offseason by Green Bay in what was an unusual move. He was previously working in the media and actually still does. His radio show on FOX Sports was live from Eskimo Joe’s in Stillwater ahead of the game.
But when Green Bay came calling to give him a head coaching job, it was too good to pass up.
“It is an honor beyond measure to be named the 10th Men’s Basketball coach in UWGB history. I would like to thank Chancellor Mike Alexander and Josh Moon for this incredible opportunity,” Gottlieb said in a statement after being hired. “Every kid has a dream growing up, some want to be firefighter, others want to be president, I have always wanted to be a head basketball coach at the Division I level.”
Green Bay is a member of the Horizon League and was predicted to finish 8th in the preseason media poll.
