Fishers (Ind.) Hamilton Southeastern 2026 quarterback Terry Walker III tells On3 he has committed to Duke.

The Indianapolis-area passer chose to play for head coach Manny Diaz and the Blue Devils over his other finalist Virginia.

“I’ll be going to Duke!” Walker told On3 prior to going public with his plans.

“After a lot of prayer and talks with my family it just felt right for us! When you put all the off the field opportunities together with the on-field aspect of everything it’s an easy sell for me!”

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Walker becomes commit No. 5 for Duke in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Led by offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Jonathan Brewer’s efforts, the Blue Devils offered in January during a junior day visit.

“I love their offensive scheme,” Walker has said. “They push the ball down the field a lot and it’s a very quarterback friendly offense!

“I also love the history Coach Brewer has with quarterbacks he’s proven to help them excel and take the next big step in their game!”

As a junior Walker threw for 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. He rushed for nearly 400 more yards and four more scores.

Walker has set his official visit to Duke for the weekend of May 30. Other programs to offer include App State and Coastal Carolina.

On3 tabs Walker as the nation’s No. 62 quarterback. He is the No. 16 prospect in the Hoosier State.

This Duke class also includes offensive lineman Sean Stover, defensive linemen Ayden Cain and Chadwicke Cannon and edge rusher Dane Bathurst.
