A top-10 edge rusher in the class of 2025 has been committed to Clemson since July 20.

Now, Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley four-star EDGE Bryce Davis is trending to stay home in North Carolina and flip his commitment to Duke.

On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons and VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong both logged expert predictions on Saturday favoring the Blue Devils to flip Davis away from the Tigers. Duke now leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for Davis at 89.4%.

Davis is the nation’s No. 73 overall prospect, No. 10 EDGE and No. 3 recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

More on Davis’ recruitment

Before Davis made his decision to commit to Clemson last month, On3’s Chad Simmons reported that Duke had picked up momentum in his recruitment as the decision neared. Davis mentioned at the time that education would play a role in his choice.

“It will come down to my gut, but the family atmosphere, the scheme and the education all factor into it,” Davis previously said. “My mom is an educator and my dad is a police officer in the Army, so education is big and just having that home feeling is something I am thinking a lot about.”

In Davis’ commitment announcement, he said that it did come down to Clemson and Duke.

“I made the final decision on Saturday morning,” Davis told On3. “It was an extremely tough decision. It took a lot of mental toughness to make this decision. I went back and forth between Clemson and Duke and it was tough. My final decision is Clemson.”
