The Duke Blue Devils and Michigan State Spartans are getting ready to play what should be an exciting early-season matchup on Tuesday night. With both teams coming into the game ranked but with a loss on their records already, it’s going to be an incredibly important non-conference game for both programs to win.

The Blue Devils got off to a hot start this season, with a dominant win against an overmatched Dartmouth team. However, Duke then ran into trouble against Arizona, one of the best teams in the country. In Michigan State’s case, the Spartans suffered an early season upset against James Madison. However, with the Dukes now ranked, that loss doesn’t look as it initially did.

This is one of two games in the Champions Classic, a marquee double-header of college basketball games between historic programs. That’s going to make this a neutral site game and it will lead into a game between Kansas and Kentucky.
