Colorado Springs, Colorado – The October USA Basketball Mini Camp issued invites to top prospects across the United States. The program has already started its process of narrowing down teams for next summer’s FIBA games.

USA Basketball splits teams by birth year. For the upcoming summer, U16 is January 1, 2008, or younger, U17 is January 1, 2007, or younger, U18 is January 1, 2006 or younger, and U18 is January 1, 2005 or younger. This past season, USA Basketball sent a team to the FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the FIBA U19 World Cup..

This year’s Minicamp will feature 85 athletes from the 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes. This will be twenty-nine of the player’s first time participating with USA Basketball.

This minicamp will be headlined by On3’s No. 2 player in 2024, Dylan Harper. He will be joined by On3’s No. 3 ranked Ace Bailey (Rutgers), No. 5 ranked Tre Johnson, No. 6 ranked Jayden Quaintance, and No. 10 ranked Ian Jackson (UNC). Five-star prospects from the 2025 class include No. 3 Caleb Wilson, No. 4 Meleek Thomas, No. 5 Isiah Harwell, No. 6 Jalen Haralson, and No. 7 Koa Peat

Each of the top five players in the 2026 class will also be in attendance. No. 1 ranked AJ Dybantsa, No. 2 Tyran Stokes, No. 3 Brandon McCoy, No. 4 Caleb Holt, and No. 5 Alijah Arenas are all on the roster. Lincoln Cosby, Babatunde Oladotun, and Darius Wabbington are the three 2027 prospects in attendance.

This camp always seems to be a proving ground of sorts. Top players from across the country are competing in front of the USA Basketball Committee for a chance to represent their country. In years past, you have quickly been able to pick the alphas out of the group.

Let’s go through some storylines.

Dylan Harper and Tre Johnson’s recruitment coming down the wire

Early national signing day starts on November 8. During last year’s 2023 class cycle, over 140 of the top 150 players signed during the early signing period. That gives us about a month for the 61 still uncommitted players in On3’s 2025 On3 150 to make a decision.

Two of those players are Dylan Harper and Tre Johnson. Both players are regulars at USA Basketball minicamps and training camps, each having participated on last year’s U19 team that took bronze in the FIBA U19 World Cup.

Johnson has taken official visits to Kentucky and Kansas while visiting Baylor and Texas twice. Harper’s official visits have been to Indiana and Duke. As we are coming down the final home stretch, where do things stand with the two Five-Star Plus+ guards?

Movement in the 2026 rankings?

Eight of the top ten players in the 2026 On3 150 will be in attendance, and all 24 of the players in the class of 2026 are ranked among the top 50 players in the class. This will be an excellent opportunity for players to stand out among their peers.

In the 2026 class, AJ Dybantsa, Tyran Stokes, Brandon McCoy, and Caleb Holt – one through four in the rankings – each made the USA Basketball U16 team that won the gold medal in the FIBA Americas Championship this summer. Small forward Jalen Montonati was also on that team.

The 2026 players in the top ten of the 2026 On3 150 will be in attendance.

1. SF AJ Dybantsa
2. SF Tyran Stokes
3. PG Brandon McCoy
4. SG Caleb Holt
5. SG Alijah Arenas
6. SG Alex Constanza
7. SF Elijah Williams
10. PG Dylan Mingo
