Throughout the week, EA SPORTS released its rankings ahead of the College Football 25 release. The biggest came down Friday, though, with the Top 25 Power Rankings.

The anticipation continues to grow ahead of the July 19 release, and the Offensive and Defensive Power Rankings added to it Thursday morning. Those came after the Sights, Sounds and Tradition Deep Dive dropped and the game’s toughest places to play came out earlier in the week.

Now, we know the top teams in EA SPORTS College Football 25 in the Top 25 Power Rankings. Here’s the full breakdown of the Top 25 Power Rankings.

1. Georgia – 95 OVR

Following a dominant three years, Georgia finds itself at the top of EA SPORTS’ Top 25 Power Rankings for College Football 25. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs won back-to-back national titles before going 13-1 last year en route to an Orange Bowl victory, and they’ll be the top team in the video game.

UGA has one of the top quarterbacks in the country returning this year in Carson Beck, who’s already generating buzz as the potential top quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Along with some big-time additions in the transfer portal and another highly rated recruiting class, Georgia has the makings for another national championship run in 2024.

2. Ohio State – 93 OVR

Last year, Ohio State once again fell short of a Big Ten title and the College Football Playoff. But Ryan Day and the Buckeyes reloaded in a big way to become perhaps the favorite in the Big Ten and one of the highest-rated teams in EA Sports College Football 25.

The Buckeyes were one of the biggest winners in the transfer portal, landing eight players – including four of the top 15 players in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. Add in returning stars on both sides of the ball, and Ohio State could find itself toward the top of the rankings when the season comes around.

3. Oregon – 93 OVR

One of the many teams getting ready to move conferences this year, Oregon could challenge Ohio State in a Big Ten that no longer has divisions. The Ducks tied with the Buckeyes with a 93 OVR rating in EA SPORTS College Footblal 25 as they look to continue their rise under Dan Lanning’s leadership over the last two years.

Oregon made a big splash this year by bringing in Dillon Gabriel and Dante Moore to create a potential succession plan at quarterback following Bo Nix’s departure. All told, the Ducks brought in the No. 6-ranked transfer class and the No. 3-ranked high school recruiting class, which helps put them in strong position to once again play on the national stage.

4. Alabama – 92 OVR

It’s a new era in Tuscaloosa as Kalen DeBoer settles in as Alabama head coach. But even though Nick Saban is happily retired and getting ready for his first full season on College GameDay, the Crimson Tide still find themselves as a Top-Five team in EA SPORTS College Football 25.

Despite some high-profile transfers, Alabama still has quarterback Jalen Milroe in tow and Kadyn Proctor is back after committing to Iowa out of the portal. The Crimson Tide have a 92 OVR rating to come in as the second highest-rated SEC team in the video game behind only Georgia.

5. Texas – 92 OVR

Alabama isn’t the only team at 92 OVR, though. Texas is also in the Top 5 after a huge 2023 season that saw the program make its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance after one final Big 12 title.

The Longhorns are sure to be one of the most talented teams in the country with Quinn Ewers and Ethan Burke returning to anchor both units. Some notable playmakers are also on their way to Austin in 2024 as Texas moves to the SEC, and that helps Steve Sarkisian’s group come in as the No. 5 team in EA SPORTS College Football 25.

6. Clemson – 90 OVR

The 2023 season didn’t necessarily go the way Clemson wanted after the program’s streak of 10-win campaigns came to an end. But the Tigers still could factor into the ACC title picture with another highly rated recruiting class coming in and key contributors returning.

Cade Klubnik will once again have the keys at quarterback after an up-and-down first year as the starter. But he’ll be in his second year under offensive coordinator Garrett Riley’s watch, and that could help the junior take a jump that will be necessary to get Clemson back to the top of the new-look ACC.

7. Notre Dame – 90 OVR

In Year 2 under Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame suffered some avoidable losses, but still finished with a 10-3 record. But a high-profile coordinator change and another notable transfer quarterback are generating some buzz around the Fighting Irish in 2024, which could be a big year for Freeman.

Mike Denbrock is now in as offensive coordinator and Riley Leonard – one of the top transfers this cycle – is also the heir-apparent to Sam Hartman at quarterback. Notre Dame lost some production to the draft, but notable contributors such as Xavier Watts and Mitchell Evans are back on both sides of the ball to help the Fighting Irish take a leap.

8. LSU – 90 OVR

While the LSU offense soared in 2023 – largely thanks to Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels and two first-round receivers – the defense had some question marks. But Brian Kelly made a big hire on that side of the ball and will look to start a new chapter on offense after Mike Denbrock’s departure.

Blake Baker is now in as defensive coordinator, and all eyes now turn to what Harold Perkins’ role will be after a drop in production last year. Garrett Nussmeier will likely take over for Daniels at quarterback after sitting in a reserve role, but LSU will still be a 90 OVR in EA SPORTS College Football 25 when the video game drops next month.

9. Penn State – 88 OVR

In 2023, Penn State dropped some big games as it looked to play spoiler in the Big Ten East. Then, James Franklin made a coordinator switch, which showed his desire to help the Nittany Lions stay in contention in the new-look conference.

Penn State made a splash by luring Andy Kotelnicki away from Kansas, and he’ll now play a role in the development of Drew Allar. The Nittany Lions also dealt with some key departures on defense from a leadership standpoint, but Abdul Carter returns to help anchor that unit in 2024.

10. Utah – 88 OVR

As Utah makes the move to the Big 12, the Utes are already generating buzz as the potential favorite in its new conference. In fact, Kyle Whittingham’s group is the highest-rated Big 12 team in EA SPORTS College Football 25, adding to that excitement.

Utah will get yet another year of Cameron Rising this year after he received another year of eligibility. Along with the usual toughness the Utes display under Whittingham, it’ll be hard to count them out in their new conference, especially after the departures of Oklahoma and Texas.
