Familiar faces remain at the top of the list

Alabama and Georgia just met in this year’s title games, and both are listed with the best odds to win a championship next season at +200. While both teams will lose some significant talent to the NFL, they each will return a strong core which should aid a potential run next season.

On Alabama’s side, they return this year’s Heisman Trophy winner (quarterback Bryce Young) and arguably the best defensive player in the nation (Will Anderson). Georgia will lose a lot of pieces on defense and in the running back room, but the Bulldogs still have a strong roster entering next season.

Behind Georgia and Alabama, Ohio State comes in with the third best odds to win next year’s championship. The Buckeyes return a young core that is led by quarterback CJ Stroud, running back TreVeyon Henderson, and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Despite some struggles this season, Vegas lists Clemson with the fourth best odds for next season.

Michigan, this year’s second seed in the College Football Playoff, headlines the next group with +3500 championship odds. The Wolverines fell to Georgia in the CFP semifinal this season. Oklahoma is also in this group despite the departures of Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams and others. Riley remains in this group, though, as USC also comes in at +3500 alongside Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.

Cincinnati, this year’s fourth seed in the CFP, come in with +8000 odds to win the championship next season. The Bearcats were the top Group of 5 team in the nation this year, but will lose a tremendous amount of talent in the offseason.

Next season will be here before we know it. Week 0 is set to begin on Saturday, August 27.
